i'm back from my trip for about almost a week now, i kind of miss england for quite a bit because of the time spent which was almost a month. not that i did not miss home sweet home when i was there. i did. i missed everyone back home. i missed all the good food that we can't get there. i missed my yong tau foo. but now that i'm back, i miss the times i had in school, which was in bradford especially. i wish i was still having fun there, not here in singapura working. its so bore-ing. i miss the fluffy clouds and the beautiful blue skies they have there. its so nice unlike the clouds here, it looks as if its painted from some cartoon background like from the simpsons if u get what i mean. ok whatever. the first two weeks in bradford, yorkshire was good, the best so far compared to the trip to paris and london right after.
the school hostel turned out to be better that i expected. bradford city was nice, its peaceful and quiet and i love it. i love how near the city centre, shopping, supermarkets are just within walking distances. i miss the cold weather too even though it was summer. i remember one time, we finished watching the harry potter movie which ended about an hour before midnight and we were shivering so bad that we walked very fast enough to hop onto the cab back to our hostel. it was that cold. it was 13degrees if i'm not wrong. madness. the strong wind didn't help either. so yes, even though the projects we had to complete were a bit stressful, there were sure some fun times we had there together. i miss eating and cooking in the kitchen. miss those times i get to shout thru my room window to call out to my friends in the other rooms. i miss doing laundry and playing games while waiting for the clothes to get dry. fun times. anyways, i also managed to drop by leeds during one of the weekends to collect our train tickets and also go for some shopping. it was only the beginning of the shopping adventure cos i was saving my pounds for shopping in london. yeahaw.
spent lots of times travelling in train rides to paris via londons king cross. and from paris back to london, it was all madness when i had to keep pulling my super damn heavy luggage which made me had blisters in my hands. anyhoos, paris was a bit of a disappointment. well ok, i know its a place for lovers, but i kind of disagree, its only nice when its at night around the eiffel tower area. but the rest of the place, it was just okay. the only good thing was the service we had and the hotel we stayed in paris, very good. unlike the one in london, it was damn vintage, but it was alright. the underground train in paris was quite a blur at first cos of the language barrier, but we being the people with a good sense of direction (ahem) we managed. visited the louvre museum, there were lots of sculptures, and monalisa was rather small. shopping in paris was a no-no, it will burn a big hole in your pockets. so my euros was mostly unused. eiffel was nice at night. arc de triomphe was big.
london was much better. it was a shopping heavennnnnn in oxford street. i'm lovin it. from topshop to h&m to urban outfitters, zara, uniqlo, dorothy perkins, fred perry, ben sherman, vans, merc, etc etc etc. how super cool is that. you can never shop enough. its 23456783131321times better to shop even tho some may be a bit costly. but its worth if u can't get here in lioncity right. also managed to catch a ride in the london eye, saw the big ben, river thames, tower bridge, etc. i would very much like to visit england again, maybe with my family next :) so if u're wondering how wonderful my UK trip was, check out the thousands of photos i took with my dslr which my 17-85mm lens decided to die on me when i was only in bradford, so that explains the pictures where i'm unable to take close ups as the lens got stuck at the 17mm range and was not able to zoom in. super duper dammit. but anyway, u can check it out from my
facebook or
multiply. ENJOY!
and do you know there's dunkin donuts here in ION Orchard. YEAHAW. i loike. :))
